School

My internet has been down all weekend, so I never got to tell you about the big theme party, Saturday night. I'll post pictures from that soon, but so far, all you need to know is, that we went as sheep and I had soooooooo much fun! :)

Today we started school.
It's weird to be back in school, walking around with a backpack, but it's nice. We have 6 subjects which are separated into 6 blocks. A, B, C, D, W, X and Y, so for example, today I had block A, B, C and D. Tomorrow I will have W, X, Y and A and Wednesday, I will have B, C, D and W and so on.
My blocks are
A: English Language and Literature with Pete (my adviser, who is super awesome!!)
B: Environmental Systems and Societies with Anna (she's alright.)
C: Economics with Rudy (this is like my favorite class EVER!!)
D: Mathematics SL with Paulina (a little hardcore so far, but I'll fight.)
W: Free block (because I don't have to take Nordic Studies :D Only until Christmas though.)
X: Nordiskspråk/Danish. (I haven't had this yet, but it's Danish, Swedish and Norwegian together, so we read a book in our own language and discuss it in class in "Nordic." My second year will be only Danish though.)
Y: Spanish (haven't had this yet either, but I'm excited!)

Here are some more photos of the fjord (which I have now jumped into twice.) Campus by night, taken from the island and my room door.

Weekend

So the intro week is almost over. Wow! It's went by SO fast! Yesterday we went to "Snekker bur" (I honestly have no idea how to spell it.) Which is a little house by the water, where there's a café every Friday night until midnight. I didn't go to bed till 4:30 am though.
Today, I took my swimming test, so now I can use the gym and pool and legally jump into the fjord (I jumped into the fjord yesterday after my run though.)
Tonight is the first "Saturday night party" and it's a theme party, so every room decides a theme and shows up as that. We're thinking about being sheeps.
On weekends, we have brunch instead of breakfast and lunch, so it was nice to sleep a little for once :) On Saturdays they have "rice pudding" just like we eat it in Denmark at Christmas and apparently they have eggs on Sundays.

Two pictures: one of the rainy campus and one of Åse (Norway) and my roomie, Victorije (Vikki, Latvia) in Sweden House's dayroom.

Pictures

So yesterday my suitcase finally came. It was here right after lunch and about an hour later, I had unpacked everything, put pictures in frames and pictures on the wall in my bed (and was wearing my own clothes again.)
This is how my corner looks right now. I sleep in the bottom bed.
The next picture is a picture of the student village, taken at the beginning, when you walk from the school buildings, cafeteria ect. I live in the very far end, so you can't see my house (Sweden house) on the picture.
The third picture, is a picture of the fjord from yesterday.
The fourth picture is taken from the road behind the Student village and you can see the school and Haugland in the background.
The sixth picture is from Flekke.
The last picture is Kristoffer (a danish boy) in front of Flekke Shop/Joker.

Rotations

Yesterday I got to see everything on campus - the laundry room, the clothes store ect. And learned how to use everything, so that's nice. Over the next couple of days, we're gonna have "rotations." The first one (yesterday) was a cultural one, where we learned about each others cultures, just us in first years in the Sweden House. Today were gonna walk to Flekke and the one and only store there, and then we have to help at some community service project (I heard we have to carry wood).

More updates to come!

Norwegian

Last night, I was in Finland house's dayroom, talking to a Swedish girl in Danish of course. When I got back into my room, my Norwegian roommate had two Norwegian people visiting, so when I finally went to bed, my thoughts were all with a Norwegian accent.
I tried to read my book, but I couldn't concentrate, since the worlds were "jumping up and down" in my head. What a crazy experience :)

Travel

So even though it wasn't my lucky day, I couldn't imagine a place where I fit in any better than here at RCN!
At first, they pulled my bag to the site in security. They knew nothing was in there, they were just doing a "random check." Oh well, life goes on.
Then they lost my suitcase, the one with my clothes, my toothbrush and stuff like that. It'll probably not get here for a week or so, but luckily my super awesome roomies said I could wear their clothes.

When the bus finally pulled up at college, everyone, inside as outside, were screaming! We were finally here. Every second year had a sign with their first year roommates names on it, and I quickly found mine. I live with a girl from Norway, China, Israel and one that is arriving tonight, from Latvia, in Sweden House, room 103!

Stay tuned ;)

GO!

Everything's packed, I'm checked in for my plane and all I need now is a good night of sleep and good luck tomorrow! (Oh, and to realize that I'm leaving?)
I want everyone who reads this blog, to take care the next few months, while I am away (and always!)
Stay tuned ;)

Ready, set and ...go!!!!

Set

It just hit me.
One more week and I'll be on my way out on new adventures.
Unbelievable, huh?
I've packed almost everything, except clothes. I've said goodbye to my friends.
Time flies, and still, I feel like it moves soooo slow!
Come on Monday, I'm set!
