RCNMUN

Me, Kris (Denmark), Mia (Germany)

The Delegates of Palestine:
Diego (Bolivia), me, Alonso (Peru)

MUN stands for Model United Nations and RCN’s version of this is of course called RCNMUN.
MUN happens all around the world, from Denmark to Slovakia, India and Canada ... Everywhere! It is a chance for the youth of the world to see how the United Nations works and give their solution to worlds problems. Here at school, we started MUN about in the fall, preparing for the real thing, which happened in January. I was in the ECOFIN (Economical and Financial) committee and I represented Palestine. I had a great time, being in ECOFIN for the first day and then in the General Assembly the second.
There were six different committees and they were all discussing their own. In the General Assembly (GA), we were three representatives from Palestine.
I had a great time, even though some people (I almost didn’t plan this J) tried to kidnap the President of the GA in a break and Iran declared new clear war. I think everyone enjoyed it, but many were also happy that this wasn’t their everyday job (therefore adding some fun.)
I did, though, like it so much, that I am now in the EAC planning RCNMUN 2013, for our first years! (Who in Denmark should be selected in the next couple of days!)

I’m very busy lately, but will hopefully update more soon!

Wet Socks

I know you all think "oh no, yet another post about Spring coming and the rain following" but no. This time I'm gonna do a little bit of complaining, regarding getting wet socks, indoors, twice in a day! First of all, even though this was probably slightly more about me being tired and not thinking things through, when I went to the pool this morning to take a life-guard shift, I went through the dressing room, still in my clothes, to go to the main room and turn on the lights (since I was the first person there). But only making it a couple of steps into the dark of the dressing room, I stepped into a puddle of water!
Second of all, before going to a meeting today, I went into our bathroom where my roommate had just taken a shower and in some way managed to do it outside the shower curtain and on pretty much the entire bathroom floor. Once again, my feet were cold and wet.
(I do not like cold feet)

Now, looking past my grumpy 3 am post, it is about time to celebrate that this week, where I can't help but think my teacher's tried to get me down and make all big assignments due, is almost over. I now officially finished everything except for the conclusion of my Economics IA (Internal Assessment), which I'll safe for some more fun tomorrow!
The nice thing about this, is that it leaves me with a weekend without too many big assignments for the next week and hereby.... dududududuuuumm.. Time to work on my biggest assignment: The Extended Essay!

Don't you just have to love the IB?

Now, I must go to bed, before all this irony takes over :)

Turning around

Spring has hit and the rain is not hesitating to come back - and hard! I have also started not even noticing when it's just a drizzle. I have also rearranged my corner a little and do now sleep with my head in the opposite end of the bed so people think I'm crazy, but I have learned that you need to find the amount of sleep here, that can keep you going and then sleep deeeeeeeply for those hours! Also I have now done so little homework this week, that I have a very exciting weekend in front of me with my head buried in books :)

A couple of weeks ago I went to UKM, a Norwegian talent competition for youth that starts locally and then some move on the bigger and bigger competitions until the national one. Gray (USA) and I were hosting it IN NORWEGIAN! He takes Norwegian ab initio, but has practiced so much with that he basically speaks it fluently and I practice at Children's Theater, where the kids are also finally understanding me! Who knew I wasn't only studying my three languages here (Danish, English, Spanish)?

Some picture's from UKM in the top :)

Spring!

This is how you have your boyfriend shut up :)

Today, I’ve followed all the steps on the list that I don’t have to a happy and healthy life.
I got a good nights sleep (7 hours) Ö
Woke up early (8:10) Ö
Went for a morning jog Ö
Went for a walk in the sun Ö
Went to Zumba Ö
Took a nap Ö
Swam Ö
In between I ate, relaxed and studied. :)

Today was the second day in a row with amazing weather in Flekke. I haven't worn my winter jacket since we came back from Ski-week and you can really feel the spring sneaking in (including the rain).

Also, in the pool I almost got included in a Finish sauna ceremony, but I swam instead. Apparently they sing this song and every time they say the word "hey" they pour more water on, so it gets incredibly hot in there and they're not aloud to leave until it's over. Also they take turns hitting each other with branches filled with leafs. Sure sounds strange, but also as an experience! Maybe some other time :)
